Poets, writers, family members and friends of those affected by the earthquake and tsunamy in Asia.

In front of so much devastation and pain brought on by the earthquake and resulting tsunami affecting you, your loved ones, friends and family members in many Asian countries, we would like to let you know that we stand with you. We are praying that you get the good news you have been waiting for. We also want you to know that you are in our meditations and thoughts. We are hoping that your loved ones were spared from this catastrophic human tragedy.

We are praying that you can find comfort, solace and much needed rest in the days and weeks ahead, especially during the long and costly reconstruction phase.

A lot of us in the West are asking what we can do to help you overcome these situations. Action is always better than inaction. Many of us in the west are also affected by the recent events taking place in Asia. Our neighbors, colleagues, teachers and countrymen had been face to face with danger.

Here's your opportunity to respond to the disaster. Submit your feedback, survival stories, earthquake tragedy appeals to us for publication in a book format by the beginning of Spring, 2005. Feel free to tell the world about some of the people who are reported missing, or injured. You can also talk about what these parts of the world have come to mean to you and your family. We understand that talking about these huge losses can be the beginning of the healing process.

We are asking for short letters, essays, poems and appeals that will be published. You won't have to pay anything for the production costs. Please add a small autobiography so we can give you credit.
